Error: Depreciation client is network locked out
Scenario
You may get either of the following error messages when you open a client.
Error message
Cannot open client XXXXX: The depreciation client is network locked out by user: XXX.
Client XXXXX is networked locked.
If the client is not open or the user is not working in the application, follow 1 of the following 3 possible solutions.
Solution 1: Delete a User Lock in Fixed Assets CS
- SelectHelp, thenRepair.
- Select theFile Lockstab.
- Mark either theUser locksorClient lockscheckbox, depending on which one you want to clear.
- If there's a user or client listed, highlight the item, then selectDelete Lock.noteIf the user or client isn't listed, follow Solution 2 or 3.
- SelectYesto delete the lock, thenDone.
Solution 2: Delete a User Lock in Windows Explorer
- Right-click the Windows Start button, and selectExploreorFile Explorer.
- Go toX:\WinCSI\DeprSys\UID, whereXis the drive where Fixed Assets CS is installed.
- Select the lock you want to delete, then pressDelete.
- SelectYesto delete.
Solution 3: Delete a Client Lock in Windows Explorer
- Right-click the Windows Start button and selectExploreorFile Explorer.
- Go toX:\WinCSI\DeprData\$DEPCID, whereXis the drive where Fixed Assets CS is installed.
- Select the lock and pressDelete.noteAll open clients will appear here.
- SelectYesto delete.
