Restore client data from CSD File
When sending client data to an email recipient or to a file, a backup file is saved in a CSD (Creative Solutions Data) file format.
To restore a CSD file, you must have installed the same application and year of the application that was used to email/create the CS backup. The email recipient/person restoring the CSD file must also have the same application and year installed.
To restore client data from the CSD file into UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS, complete the following steps.
- Double-click the CSD file to open it.
- Fixed Assets CS or UltraTax CS will automatically detect and recognize the data file and present theRestorewindow with the client selected. If theRestorewindow doesn't appear, read the following note. Otherwise, skip to the next step.noteIf prompted to run the attachment, selectRun. Otherwise, if the only option is to Save the file to disk, selectSave. When asked where to save the file, choose the Desktop (at the top of the list of folders) for easy access. Then, locate the file on the Desktop and double-click on it to restore the client.
- SelectRestoreto restore the client. If the same client exists in your current UltraTax CS data location, a prompt will appear to replace the existing client data.
