Install Fixed Assets CS locally on a laptop

When you have a laptop that's used both in the office and out in the field, we recommend installing Fixed Assets CS locally and setting up 2 data locations (1 to your network data and 1 to your local data) so that you can easily switch between the 2 data locations.
Follow these steps to install Fixed Assets CS on a laptop when you need to access data both locally and on a network.
  1. Download and save the Fixed Assets CS installation file (sign in needed).
  2. Run the installation file.
  3. When you get to the
    Product Selection
     window, mark the
    Fixed Assets CS
     checkbox and make sure that
    Installing To:
     displays on your local drive (
    C:\WinCSI
    ).
  4. Select
    Install
    . Follow the installation wizard to complete the installation process.
  5. After the installation is complete, select
    Setup
    ,
    System Configuration
    , then the
    Data Locations
     tab. The installation process creates the local data path C:\WinCSI\DeprData.
  6. To add the network data location, select
    Add Data Location
    . Enter an alias (for example, Network) and select
    Enter Path
     to go to the network data location.
  7. Select
    OK
     until all windows are closed.
