Tasks that can be restricted by a master password
The users who can perform any of the following tasks can be limited to only those who know a master password.
- Modifying application security settings in theSetup,System Configuration, thenSecuritytab.
- Adding, modifying, or deleting client data locations, or transferring configurable files between data locations in theSetup,System Configuration, thenData Locationstab.
- Modifying settings regarding the backup of Fixed Assets CS client data to FileCabinet CS in theSetup,System Configuration, thenFileCabinet CStab.
- Modifying the number of years of depreciation data that are retained when closing to a new period in theSetup,System Configuration, thenConnect + Optionstab.
- Modifying template information in theSetup,System Configuration, thenTemplatetab.
- Modifying a state's bonus depreciation calculation and the section 179 limitations in theSetupthenState Calculationswindow.
- Modifying the settings for the Method/Life Wizard in theSetupthenMethod/Life Wizardwindow.
- Rebuilding the client database, clearing network locks, and creating a license disk inHelpthenRepair.
- Sending client data, custom methods, and custom reports via email usingFilethenSend to Email Recipient.
- Changing one client to a different processing period usingFilethenSelect Period to Process.
- Closing multiple clients to a new processing period usingFilethenMass Select Period to Process.
- Deleting and renaming clients.
- Accessing certain items in the Fixed Assets CS Home Page.
- Creating or modifying custom reports in theSetupthenCustom Reportswindow.
- Viewing client information and status reports in theUtilitiesthenClient Listingswindow.
- Overriding data in calculated fields.
- Assigning client passwords and other restricting access to client data.
