Import asset data from an ASCII file

You'll need to create an ASCII import file before you can import into Fixed Assets.

Do the following to import asset data from other applications that we have committed to converting into Fixed Assets CS.

Open the client in Fixed Assets CS.

Select Utilities
, Import Asset Data
, then ASCII file
.

In the

Import Asset Data

window, verify or change the location of the import file.

note

If you're running Fixed Assets CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can search files on your local network.

To limit the number of files that show in the Name of file to be imported dropdown, mark the Only include files with DSW extensions
checkbox.

Select the name of the CSV file to be imported then select Import
.
