Use the
Send to File Location
window to send client data, custom methods, custom reports, or system settings to an encrypted file that you can password-protect for additional security. Fixed Assets CS creates this file in the folder you specify in this window.
Use the
Send to Email Recipient
window to send client data, custom methods, custom reports, or system settings to an encrypted file that Fixed Assets CS attaches to a blank email message. This file can also be password protected.
To open the
Send to Email Recipient
window, select

Depending on your security configuration, you might be prompted to enter the master password before you can open the
Send to Email Recipient
window.

  • If your email service supports Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) protocol, use the
    Send to Email Recipient
    window to have Fixed Assets CS automatically open an email message and attach the data items.
  • If your email service is America Online (AOL), or another service that doesn't support MAPI protocol, save the data items using the
    Send to File Location
    window, create your message using AOL (or other non-MAPI-supporting service), and manually attach the file you created.

Clients, Custom Methods, Custom Reports, or System Settings
Select the type of data item you want to send to a file or an email message from this dropdown list.
  • Select
    Clients
    to send client data.
  • Select
    Custom Methods
    to send custom methods. If you select
    Custom Methods
    , all fields in the
    Focus client listing
    group box are not available.
  • Select
    Custom Reports
    to send custom reports. If you select
    Custom Reports
    , all fields in the
    Focus client listing
    group box are not available.
  • Select
    System Settings
    to send custom asset labels, data locations, import maps, or status system events. If you select
    System Settings
    , the fields in the
    Focus client listing
    group box are not available.
Available pane
All items that meet the criteria defined in the
Focus client listing
group box are listed here.
Note that any clients already listed in the
Selected
pane are not listed here.

  • To select an item from this list, select it and choose
    Select
    . The item moves to the
    Selected
    pane.
  • To sort the client list by client ID, name, or entity type, select the words
    Client ID

    in the title bar of the list pane.

Lists all items selected to send to a file or an email recipient.

  • To remove an item from this list, select it and select
    Remove
    . The item returns to the
    Available
    pane.
  • To sort the client list by client ID, name, or entity type, select the words

If you want, you can limit the clients that are available for selection in this window. Clear the checkbox for each type of client that you don't want to include in the list.
Restore user/default focus options button
Select this button to switch between the most recent custom focus selection and the default selection for the current window.
Event
This field displays the client status event used to focus the client list and the sorting criteria for the event. To change the client status event or sorting criteria, select
Modify
.
Modify button
Select this button to open the
Modify Event Focus
window to change the client status event or sorting criteria in
Event
.
Password protect group box
Password
Enter the password you want to use to password-protect the file to which the selected items will be sent. Enter the same password in
Verify
.
Verify
Enter the password that you entered in
Password
again to verify that it's correct.

This field isn't available if you don’t enter a password in
Password
.
The following fields are available only in the
Send to File Location
window.
File destination
Displays the location to which the file will be sent. To change this location, select
Modify Destination
, go to to the location, and select
OK
.

Modify Destination button
To change the location to which the encrypted files will be sent, select this button. Then, go to to the folder, and select
OK
.

Send to Email Recipient
window.
"Check out" selected clients
Mark this checkbox to check out the selected clients' data. By checking out a client's data, you can avoid problems that result from multiple people accessing the same client data simultaneously.
For example, you might mark this checkbox when you take a client's data home or to another office location. If anyone attempts to open the client while you have the data checked out, Fixed Assets CS displays a window stating that the data is currently checked out.

    window to check client data back in to Fixed Assets CS.
