Use this window to export asset data to a file for use with other applications.
To open this window, select Utilities, then Export Asset Data.

Fields & buttons

Columns group box
Custom report layout
Select a report layout from the dropdown list.
note
The dropdown list displays all comparative reports and any custom reports you have set up in Fixed Assets CS.
Include column headings
Mark this to have Fixed Assets CS generate column heading information in the export file.
Include column totals
Mark this to have Fixed Assets CS generate column totals in the export file.
Format group box
Format
  • DIF:
    Select this to create an export file in DIF format. You can import DIF files directly into many spreadsheet applications without any further data conversion.
  • ASCII:
    Select this to create an export file in ASCII format. ASCII files are compatible with most word processing applications.
  • XLSX (Excel):
    Select this to create an export file in XLSX format. XLSX files are compatible with Microsoft Excel.

The file extension in
Name of file to be created via export
is automatically updated if you change the format option.

Location of file to be exported
Indicates the location where the export file will be created. Select
Change Location
to select a different drive or path.
Change Location button
Select this to specify a different drive or path for the export file.
Name of file to be created via export
This shows the name of the file that will be created.
note
The file name always defaults to the client ID, followed by either a DIF, ASCII, or XLSX file extension. However, the file name can be changed by entering a new name in this field.
