Asset Labels > Print Asset Labels > Edit Label Layout window

Show all hidden content
Use the Edit Label Layout window to edit labels that can be attached to assets for identification purposes when performing tasks such as fixed asset inventories. The asset label can display various information, including the group number, asset number, description, serial number, location and date acquired for each asset.
To open this window, select
Utilities
 then
Asset Labels
. In the Asset Labels window, select
Continue
 then
Edit
.

Fields & buttons

Defined label layouts
Lists the currently saved layouts that are available for your labels.
  • To create a new layout, select
    Add
    .
  • If you made changes to an original default layout and you want to restore the defaults of the original version, highlight the layout in the
    Defined label layouts
     field then select
    Default
    .
note
When you select
Add
 to create a new layout, Fixed Assets CS copies the layout that is currently highlighted in the
Defined label layouts
 field. To change the layout, highlight the layout that is most similar to what you want the new layout to look like then select
Add
.
Add button
Select to add a new item to the list.
Edit button
Select to modify the highlighted item.
Delete button
Select to delete the highlighted items.
Default button
If you added an asset label based on a default layout and you want to return to the original unedited version, highlight the layout in the
Defined label layouts
 field then select this button.
note
This feature does not work for layouts that were not created using a default layout.
Layout name
Shows the name of the currently selected layout.
Enter button
Select to save the information and add the item to the list.
Cancel button
Select to cancel the current procedure without saving any changes.
Label size
Select the desired label size from the dropdown.
Select
Define label size
 to open the Define Label Size window. This window allows you to add new label sizes.
Print field as
For each field you selected from the
Available Fields
 list, you can select from the dropdown whether you want to show the field on the asset label as text or as a barcode.
Move
Use the buttons to move the current selected field in the
Available Fields
 list.
You can view a preview of the label in the preview box at the bottom of this window.
Switch button
If you placed two fields on the same line on the asset label, select this button to move the field on the left to the right and the field on the right to the left.

Available Fields
Lists all of the available fields for the asset label. These fields include asset information, such as asset number, date placed in service and serial number.
  • Select the checkbox to include the field in the label. The field displays in the preview pane at the bottom of this window.
  • Clear the checkbox to remove the field from the label.
Preview area
Shows a preview of the label with the current settings.
Done button
Select to close this window and save your changes.
