Use the window to transfer an asset to a different activity or to 1 of 4 associations within the same activity. Eligible associations include: cost center, department, division, and location.

Disposed and current-year assets can't be transferred. If the asset being added or modified has been disposed or was placed in service in the current year, the fields in this tab are not available.

Transfer-Out group box
Date of transfer
Enter the date the asset was transferred to another activity or to a different association within the same activity.
Type of transfer
Select either
Activity
or an association from the dropdown list. Assets can be transferred to a different activity or to one of four associations within the same activity. Eligible associations include: cost center, department, division, and location.note
- If an asset is transferred to a different activity, a new asset will be created in the destination activity.
- If an asset is transferred to a different association, a new asset, with the new association, will be created in the current activity.
From
This field displays the name of the activity or association for the current asset. The entry in this field depends on the selection in
Type of transfer
.To
Select the activity or association to which you want to transfer the current asset. The options available in the dropdown list depend on the selection in

Asset #
This field displays the new asset number once the transfer is complete.
Treatment
Select a treatment from the dropdown list to view the cost/basis and total depreciation for the new asset.

This field displays the amount entered in
Cost/Basis
in the Depreciation
tab for the selected treatment.Total depreciation

Prior Depreciation
in the Depreciation

This field displays the date the current asset was transferred.
Type of transfer
This field displays the type of transfer that took place for the current asset.

This field displays the name of the activity or association to which the asset was transferred.
