Treatments dialog

Use this dialog to enable treatments or set up an unlimited number of custom treatments for data entry in the Depreciation tab of the Asset Detail dialog
and to determine which reports are available for printing
. You can modify the availability of treatment columns at any time.To open this dialog, choose Setup and then Treatments when the Asset List window or Asset Detail dialog is open.
note
- If the checkbox for the Book, state, AMT, ACE, or E&P treatment is not marked, the associated column is not present in the Depreciation tab.
- The E&P treatment may be used for automatic entries of Earnings and Profits depreciation data.
- Application-defined treatments are Tax, Book, and State.
- Application-defined derived treatments are AMT, E&P, and ACE. These treatments automatically calculate based on amounts entered for the Tax treatment.
- An unlimited number of other (custom) treatments are available.
- You can set up other (custom) treatments to be equal to any application-defined treatment that is not derived from another treatment.
- You can set up any other treatment to calculate a state's depreciation.
- You can set up any other treatment to automatically calculate for AMT or ACE based on amounts entered for any treatment that is not being derived from another treatment.
Fields & buttons
Treatments list
Lists all application-defined and custom treatments. If the checkbox for a treatment is marked in this list, the corresponding column is available for data entry in the Depreciation tab of the Asset Detail dialog.
Default values
Displays any options that have been set in the Treatment Options dialog.
Add button
Select this button to open a dialog in which you can add a state, state AMT, or state ACE treatment. By selecting this button, you can also set up a custom (other) treatment, add an AMT or ACE treatment for any custom treatment, or add a New York City treatment.
Build button
Select this button to open the Treatment Build dialog for the selected treatment. In this dialog, you can build treatments that are dependent, set a treatment equal to another treatment, or recalculate prior depreciation for any treatment for all assets. This button is not available if you access Setup and then Treatments from within an asset.
Options button
Select this button to open the Treatment Options dialog for the selected treatment. In this dialog, you can set calculation options for custom treatments or modify calculation options for existing treatments.
