Use this dialog to build treatments that are either dependent or equal to another treatment. You can also use this dialog to recalculate prior depreciation for all assets for all treatments.
To open this dialog, select the Build button in the Treatments dialog.

By building a treatment, you can calculate and enter the treatment for all assets.
Fields & buttons
Build based on values entered in the parent treatment
Select this option to build the current treatment based on values entered in its parent treatment. When you choose to build the treatment based on values entered in the parent treatment, you must also choose one of the following options.
- Only for assets where the [treatment] treatment is blank:Select this option to calculate and enter the current treatment for assets in which the current treatment column is blank.noteThis option is available only if the current treatment is dependent or equal to another treatment.
- For all assets:Select this option to recalculate and enter the selected treatment for all assets.noteThis option is available only if the current treatment is dependent or set equal to another treatment. Any previously entered data for the current treatment will be lost and replaced with application-calculated amounts.

Additional information about building a treatment
AMT builds for only the following property:
- Real property with a source treatment of MACRS, ACRS, 125% DB, 150% DB, or 200% DB.
- Personal property with a source treatment of MACRS or ACRS.
ACE builds only if the source treatment is ACRS or MACRS and the source treatment has data in a dependent AMT treatment.
AMT ADS life, when applicable, defaults to the life entered in the source treatment's
ADS Life
field. If data has not been entered in this field, the AMT ADS life defaults to the life entered in the source treatment's Life
field.ACE ADS life, when applicable, defaults to the life entered in the source treatment's
AMT ADS Life
field. If data has not been entered in this field, the ACE ADS life defaults to the life entered in the source treatment's Life
field.Build assets placed in service in the following tax year
Select this option and select a year placed in service to calculate depreciation for all assets that were placed into service that year.
note
This option is available only for the AMT and ACE treatments.
Replace all assets with the following treatment's values
Select this option to replace the current treatment's values with those of a different treatment. From the drop-down list, choose the treatment that contains the values you want copied to the current column.
Calculate prior depreciation for all assets
Select this option to recalculate prior depreciation for the current treatment.
note
- This option is available for all treatments.
- All previously entered prior-year data for the current treatment will be replaced with application-calculated amounts.
