Find Asset dialog (Inventory module)

Use the
Find Asset
 window to search for assets by their descriptions.
note
This window is available only if you are licensed for the Fixed Assets Inventory module.
To open this window, select
Edit
, then
Find Asset
 or select  in the
Inventory Asset List
 window toolbar.

Fields & buttons

Find what
Enter the word or words for which you want to search.
note
  • Searches are not case sensitive.
  • You can't use wildcards (for example, the
    *
     and
    ?
     characters) to substitute for specific letters in the search string.
In
Select one of the following items to specify where in the asset you want to search.
  • Description
  • Asset Note
  • Tag #
  • Serial #
  • Custom Association Name
  • Insurance Policy #
  • Lic/Reg/Cert #
  • Model #
  • Warranty #
note
The following associations appear in the dropdown list only if they are turned on for the client: Serial #, Custom Association Name, Insurance Policy #, Lic/Reg/Cert #, Model #, and Warranty #.
Find button
After entering the word or words for which you want to search in the
Find what
 field, select this button to begin the search. The search begins at the highlighted asset and continues to the end of the list.
  • If the search item is found, the search stops at the first asset containing the search string. To continue the search, select this button again.
  • If the search item is
    not
     found, you are prompted with the option to begin the search from the beginning of the asset list.
