Change the automatic asset numbering
When you enter assets, the application assigns the next available asset number greater than any other number within the activity.
Alternatively, you can tell the application to assign the lowest available number. For example, if you reassign or dispose of an asset, the application will reuse that asset's number and assign it to a new asset when the number is the lowest available number.

The following steps will change the automatic numbering of assets for all clients, not just the open client.
- SelectSetup, thenUser Preferences.noteUser Preferencesis only available when theAsset moduleis closed.
- On theData Entrytab, clear theMiscellaneoustabAssign asset numbers in the sequence assets are enteredcheckbox.
- SelectOK.
