Change the automatic asset numbering

When you enter assets, the application assigns the next available asset number greater than any other number within the activity.
Alternatively, you can tell the application to assign the lowest available number. For example, if you reassign or dispose of an asset, the application will reuse that asset's number and assign it to a new asset when the number is the lowest available number.
important
The following steps will change the automatic numbering of assets for all clients, not just the open client.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    User Preferences
    .
    note
    User Preferences
     is only available when the
    Asset module
     is closed.
  2. On the
    Data Entry
     tab
    Miscellaneous
     tab
    , clear the
    Assign asset numbers in the sequence assets are entered
     checkbox.
  3. Select
    OK
    .
