Create a standard ControlPanel profile and apply to other users

  • You need to be a member of the Administrators group.
  • Make sure that GoFileRoom ControlPanel is installed on the source workstation that you'll use to create the standard profile and on each target workstation.
You can make standard GoFileRoom ControlPanel profiles and apply them to other users' workstations, which will overwrite any of their user-created profiles.
  1. Create a standard ControlPanel profile on the source workstation.
  2. On this workstation, copy the
    user.config
     and
    userProfiles.xml
     files from the
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\GoFileRoom\GFRControlPanel\
     folder and save them to a temporary location.
  3. On each user's workstation, remove their ControlPanel upload batch history by deleting all subfolders in the
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\GoFileRoom\GFRControlPanel
     folder.
  4. Paste the
    user.config
     and
    userProfiles.xml
     files that you saved in step 2 to the
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\GoFileRoom\GFRControlPanel
     folder on each target workstation.
    note
    When the user of a target workstation opens GoFileRoom ControlPanel, the standard profile will be available.
