Error: Cannot sign in to GoFileRoom
Scenario
You may encounter problems when you sign in to GoFileRoom. In some cases, the website may not respond or it may appear to freeze.
Solution
Follow these steps on a workstation with a 32-bit version of Microsoft Edge. After each step, close and reopen Microsoft Edge and try to log in again.
- Make sure that Microsoft Edge or Chrome is configured correctly using the GoFileRoom setup checklist.
- In Microsoft Edge or Chrome, go to www.gofileroom.com and selectView Browser Requirements.
- Make sure that theEnabledcolumn displaysYesfor all applicable rows, then return to the login screen.
- If there are toolbars or Microsoft Edge add-ons installed, they may be interfering with the login process. To fix this, openWindows Control Panel, selectPrograms,Uninstall a program, and uninstallGoogle ToolbarandWindows Livetoolbar.
- ForWindows 10 users only:Add the GoFileRoom folder to the list of trusted Locations in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- In both Word and Excel, selectFile,Options, thenTrust Center.
- SelectTrust Center Settings.
- SelectTrusted Locations.
- SelectAdd New Location.
- SelectBrowse, then go toC:\Program Files (x86)\GoFileRoomand selectOK.
- Mark theSubfolders of this location are also trustedcheckbox and selectOK.
- Follow these steps to manually clear your browser's cookies and cache.
- In Microsoft Edge, selectTools, thenInternet Options, or in Chrome select
, More tools, thenClear browsing data. - In Microsoft Edge, selectSettingsin theBrowsing historysection of theGeneraltab.
- SelectView Files, then delete all of the files in this folder.
- Close and reopen Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
- Sign in to GoFileRoom.
If the issue persists, follow these steps.
- Go to www.gofileroom.com/server.asp in Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
- Note the server name listed.
- Follow the previous steps to clear your browser cookies and cache again.
- Go to www.gofileroom.com/server.asp in Microsoft Edge or Chrome again.
- Note the server name listed.
- If the server name is different than noted in step 2, test GoFileRoom performance.
- If the server name is the same as noted in step 2, restart your computer and sign in to GoFileRoom again.
- Check the Online Product status page to determine if login issues have been reported.
Virtual Office CS and Software as a Service (SaaS) users
Follow these steps to clear your temporary internet files:
- Open Microsoft Word in Virtual Office CS.
- Enterwww.google.comthen use Ctrl + Shift + Delete.
- Clear thePreserve favoritescheckbox and mark theTemporary filescheckbox.
