Troubleshoot checked out Word, Excel, and PDF files

Scenario

You may get the following message when documents are not checked in correctly.
Message
You have this file checked out locally using the GoFileRoom ControlPanel. Do you want to discard your local changes and continue working with the version currently saved in GoFileRoom?
Selecting
YES
 will override the local changes. Selecting
NO
 will keep the last save copied changes when editing.

Solution

Take the following steps to check the documents back in correctly.
  1. Select the
    GoFileRoom
     tab in Word or Excel.
  2. Select
    Save to GoFileRoom
    .
  3. In the GoFileRoom window, select one of the following save options.
    • Save to GoFileRoom
      : If version control has been turned on for your firm, you can save the document as a new version. To do so, mark the
      As new version (v2)
       checkbox and add a description.
    • Save changes locally
      .
    • Ignore changes
      .
  4. Select
    OK
    .
