Error: Windows cannot access the specified device

Scenario

You may get the following error message when using GoFileRoom Batch Scan.
Error message
C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFileRoom\PrintToGoFileRoom\ImmPrintToGfr.exe

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Solution

  • Make sure that ScanFlow is properly installed. You can review the instructions in this article to help you.
  • Disable Adobe’s Protected Mode.
    • To disable within Adobe Acrobat, select
      Edit
      ,
      Preferences
      , then
      Security (Enhanced)
       to see if
      Enable Protected Mode
       at startup is marked. If it is, clear that checkbox. GoFileRoom ScanFlow will be updated on a future release to support Adobe's Protected Mode selection.
  • Make sure that you have full control access to the
    C:\Program Files (x86)\GoFileRoom
     and subfolders.
