Enter wages to populate foreign earned income

To populate Form 2555, enter information for a foreign employer and link that information to a W-2.
Follow these steps to populate Form 2555:
  1. In Organizer, select
    Foreign Information
    , then
    Foreign Earned Income
    , and select
    Add new employer.
  2. In Organizer, select
    Foreign Information
    Foreign Earned Income
    [employer's name]
    General Information
    .
  3. Enter a
    Unique Set Number (Mandatory)
    .
  4. Enter data for employee foreign information, employer address, employer type, and all the employer information on this screen.
  5. In Organizer, select
    Foreign Information
    Foreign Earned Income
    [employer's name]
    Foreign Earned Income
    , then
    Add new Allocation Period
    .
  6. In Organizer, select
    Source Documents (W-2, 1099s, 1098)
    W-2
    Add new Employer
    .
  7. In Organizer, select
    Source Documents (W-2, 1099s, 1098)
    , then
    W-2
    , then
    [employer]
    .
  8. Select the Foreign Wages (Form 2555) section and enter the allocation code on the
    Match W-2 with Employer - Allocation Period
    line and enter the number to match with what's in the table.
In the Foreign Wages (Form 2555) section, select
Days worked
, then
Foreign Earned Income
and enter additional information.
The entered information in the Source Document (W-2) transfers to
Organizer
Foreign Information
Foreign Earned Income
[employer's name]
Foreign Earned Income
[tax year]
Wage Detail
[employer's name]
