Report W-2 income on an FEC Record for e-filing

Use the Non-W-2 FEC Record to report foreign employer compensation and pension income for e-file purposes.
This Organizer is also used to collect data reported on a non W-2 for e-file purposes. Complete all necessary fields to avoid any e-file rejects.
  1. In
    Organizer
    , select
    Source Documents
    , then
    W-2 Input
    , then the employer's name, then the
    W-2 tab
    .
  2. Select the
    Report on FEC
    checkbox, then the
    Non-W-2 (FEC Record)
    hyperlink.
  3. To enter a foreign match field, that you need for e-filing an FEC Record, select
    Organizer
    Source Documents (W-2, 1099s, 1098)
    W-2
    Employer
    , then the
    W-2
    tab.
  4. Enter the value from the
    Employer - Allocation period
    grid into the
    Match W-2 with Employer - Allocation Period
    field.
  5. Select the checkbox for
    Report on FEC Record
    .
  6. Select the
    Non-W-2 (FEC Record)
    link to enter and review the FEC Record data. If you selected the
    Report on FEC Record
    checkbox on the
    W-2
    tab, foreign compensation entered on this screen transfers to
    Form 1040, Page 1, line 1
    , and pension entries on this screen transfer to
    Form 1040, Page 1, line 4
    .
