Form W-2 print requirements
Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, prints when you calculate and print it.
To print Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement:
- In the Organizer, selectSource Documents (W-2, 1099s, 1098), thenW-2.
- Enter any missing information.
- Do a full recompute, then print.
If Form W-2: Wage and Tax Statement doesn't print, check whether it's suppressed:
- InOrganizer, selectGeneral Information, thenReturn and Print Options.
- Go to theBasic Optionstab. In theAttachment Print Optionssection, make surePrintis selected forPrint W-2 and 1099 when e-filing.
- Do a full recompute, then print.
If wages entered in Box 1 of Form W-2 aren't transferring to Form 1040, page 1, line 7, check whether the W-2 is marked as belonging to a statutory employee. When the
Statutory employee
checkbox in Box 13 is marked, the software reports wages on Schedule C, line 1c, instead of transferring them to Form 1040, line 7.- In theOrganizer, selectSource Documents, then select theW-2, and verify whetherStatutory employeeis marked in Box 13.
- If the W-2 is correctly marked asStatutory employee, go to and select the business name.
- SelectBusiness Information, then go to theSch C Activity Infotab.
- Mark theTaxpayer received earnings as a statutory employee (earnings are not subject to SE tax)checkbox.
- Enter theStatutory employee incomeamount in the Statutory Employee Income section.noteDon't include the statutory employee's wages in the gross receipts of the business.
- Do a full recompute, then print.
