Map Schedule M-3 to the chart of accounts

You can map the chart of accounts to Schedule M-3 so that when you enter data, balances populate Forms 1120C, 1120S, 1065, and Schedule M-3 at the same time.
note
  • Mapping is only done for Parts II and III of Schedule M-3.
  • You can map multiple chart of accounts to a single Schedule M-3.
  • You can import and export the mappings.
  • Mappings are rolled over each year.
  • You can change the mapping at any time.
  1. Select
    Charts
    .
  2. Select
    Federal
    , then
    Schedule M3 Line Mapping
    .
  3. Select the
    Year
     and
    Return Type
    .
  4. In the
    Chart
     field, select the chart of accounts to map to Schedule M-3.
    The chart of accounts is listed on the left, and the Schedule M-3 codes on the right.
  5. Expand
    Part II
     and
    Part III
     on the right.
  6. Mark the checkboxes for the account to map to a Schedule M-3 line and select
    Map
    .
  7. Clear the checkboxes for the lines you just mapped and repeat these steps for each account in the chart of accounts.
  8. Select
    Save
     when you're finished.
