Set up user-defined Schedule M-3 Codes

- Select theYearandReturn Type.tipYou can use theExportoption to use Microsoft Excel to set up Schedule M-3 Codes. When you're finished adding data, save the file as a .csv type and then use theImportoption to get the data into the application.
- ExpandPart IIandPart IIIas needed.
- SelectAdd, and then enter a new code and description.
- The code can be no more than 12 digits and alphanumeric.
- The description can be up to 40 characters long.
- You can create multiple codes for certain Schedule M-3 lines.
- The IRS requires additional whitepaper detail for specific lines of Schedule M-3, which the application handles when you add multiple codes for a line.
- Some lines must be coded to correspond with Form 8916-A.
- Repeat for each line as needed for the whitepaper report.
- SelectClosewhen you're finished.
