Form D20-NOL print requirements

To print, calculate, or suppress Form D20-NOL District of Columbia Corporation Franchise Tax Return:
  1. In Organizer, select
    States
    , then
    District of Columbia
    .
  2. Select
    Net Operating Loss
and enter the year information in the lower members and consolidate the Top consolidation return.
    note
District of Columbia is a combined return with each entity calculated separately based on combined apportionment. This information is then summarized in the Combined reporting schedule 1A and reported on the Form D20. The NOL schedules do not report a "combined" NOL.
The D-20 NOL Yr 2018+ won't print or calculate at the Top con. It's designed to be calculated and printed at the member level. That's what is meant when it says it's not a consolidated form. You can print this form at the member level, and it calculates at the member, all it's doing at the Top con is just summarizing the information.
  3. In Organizer, select
    States
    , then
    District of Columbia
    .
  4. Select
    Net Operating Loss
, in the DC-20 NOL section, in the
    NOL Utilized in CY (Override)
column, enter a value or the word None for all years that has an amount.
    note
You need to have an amount or None in the lower-level detail by year in both columns District NOL and NOL Utilized in CY. Do a Full recompute to the changed entities. Reconsolidate the Top consolidation. Then print and if a combined return is filed, there needs to be a Parent entity included.
  5. At the lower member select Tax Forms, then
    States
    , then
    District of Columbia
    .
  6. Select
    D-20 NOL/D-20 NOL Yr 2000 to 2017
and enter None for the total losses claimed column.
  7. Do a
    Full Recompute
    .
