To print and populate Texas 05-165, Franchise Tax Extension Affiliate List:
- Before you begin, make sure all severe diagnostics are cleared.
- Select .
- In theGeneral Informationsection, make sure theCombined Reportcheckbox is marked.
- Select .
- Go to theExtensiontab and make sure theTexascheckbox is marked.
- Enter information for theReporting EntityandAffiliate Details.
- Select and selectCombined Return Information.
- Complete bothReporting EntityandAffiliate Details.noteYou'll need begin dates and end dates for both.
If the form doesn't print, check if it's suppressed:
- Select .
- SelectPrint Suppressionand make sure the checkbox in theState Formscolumn is cleared forTexas.
Texas taxpayer number on Form 05-165
Enter a Texas taxpayer number for affiliates entered in for 1120 returns, or for 1065 returns.
If you don't enter a taxpayer number, or if you enter one with an incorrect check digit, the system automatically assigns a taxpayer number to that entity. The system assigns 000000001 to the 1st entity without a taxpayer number, and increases each successive ID by 1 digit. For example, the system assigns 000000002 to the 2nd entity without a taxpayer number. This numbering method follows Texas's specifications for application vendors and is required by the state.
