IND-996 e-file error

The Dependent/Qualifying Person Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) provided on the return is not valid. Please visit www.irs.gov/getanippin for further information and resubmit your return with the correct number. (IND-996).
Cause
The IRS issues a dependent on this return with an Identity Protection PIN, but you've entered the wrong PIN in the return.
Solution
- Go toOrganizer, thenGeneral Information.
- SelectDependents, thenDependent Input.
- Check theDependent Identity Protection PIN:
- If it is wrong, correct it, do aFull Recompute, re-create the e-file, and resubmit the return.
- If correct, contact the IRS e-Help desk at 866-255-0654 or paper file the return.
