Error: California extension with a payment

California only requires filing an extension if you're making a payment. When e-filing an extension with payment, you must complete Form 8453-BE (PMT) with bank information.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Common State
    General Information
    Bank Information
    .
  2. In the
    California (Extension)
     row, complete the following columns with your bank information:
    • Column D: Routing number
    • Column E: Account number
    • Column F: Account type
    • Column G: Amount
    • Column H: Withdrawal date
  3. Mark the
    Authorization to Debit Funds
     checkbox.
  4. Run a full recompute, then recreate the e-file extensions.
note
California requires a payment with the extension when e-filing. If you don't want to enter bank information or plan to make the payment outside of the e-file, you'll need to paper file the extension.
