You get this error when the DateAcquiredInherited or DateSoldVarious fields on California Schedule D-1 are empty.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Gains and Losses
    Sales of Business Property
    Property Descriptions
    (Description)
    Dates
    .
  2. Enter valid dates for
    Date Acquired
     and
    Date Sold
     in mm/dd/yyyy format.
  3. Use actual dates instead of VAR or Various, since California doesn’t accept these values for the date acquired.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
