Error: The field ‘Entity’ data format is not correct

When e-filing a Delaware 1065 return, validation fails because the Entity field value parses as text instead of an integer. This occurs when the Entity Override field is blank.

note
The Entity value may vary (for example, “01 Individual”, “02 Partnerships”, “04 Domestic Corporation”, “07 Estate”, “08 Trust”, or “13 Limited Liability Company”), but the cause and solution are the same.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Delaware
    General Information
    .
  2. In the
    Entity Override
column, select the same entity as shown in the
    Entity Type
    column. Don't leave
    Entity Override
    blank.
  3. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
