Error: The field AuthorizationStatement with value [ENTERED_VALUE] data format is not correct

This happens on Illinois 1065 e-file returns when the
AuthorizationStatement
contains an invalid value.

Error message

Validation failed on [FILE_ID]: Form: FormILAuthorization[1] AuthorizationStatement[1] Description: Shows acceptance of legal responsibility as stated in the implementation guide LineNumber: Line 1 Requirement: Enumerated set of authorization statements Error: The field 'AuthorizationStatement' with value '[ENTERED_VALUE]', data format is not correct. Element Name: AuthorizationStatement XPath: /ReturnState[1]/ReturnDataState[1]/FormILAuthorization[1]/AuthorizationStatement[1] XML Fragment: [ENTERED_VALUE] Field Key: 120,799,6,0,0,0,0,0,0 Error Code: [CODE] Error Reason: '[ENTERED_VALUE]' violates enumeration constraint of 'Jurat accepted Debit authorized Jurat statement accepted and debit authorized'. The element '{http://www.irs.gov/efile}AuthorizationStatement' with value '[ENTERED_VALUE]' failed to parse.

Solution 1: Clear trapped data

  1. Clear the trapped data in the
    AuthorizationStatement
    field.
  2. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.

Solution 2: Enter ERO signature date

If Solution 1 doesn't resolve the issue, verify the ERO information is complete:
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Common State
    General Information
    Paid Preparer Information
    .
  2. Select the
    ERO Information
    tab.
  3. In
    Column M (Signature Date)
    , enter the date.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
