.Solution 1: Turn off conflicting NY return or extension
This error occurs when both the NY return and NY extension are enabled at the same time.
- Go to .
- Make sure only the regular NY return or extension is enabled—not both at the same time.
- If you're filing the return, clearNYunderEnable/Create Extensions.
- If you're filing the extension, clearNYunderEnable/Create Returns.
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
Solution 2: Remove special characters from address fields
Address validation errors for
PREP_LN_2_ADR
(paid preparer address) and PART_LN_1_ADR
(partner address) occur when the address contains invalid special characters.- Locate the address field that contains special characters (such as periods in “STE.” or other punctuation).
- Remove or replace special characters with allowed alternatives (for example, change “STE.” to "STE" or "SUITE").
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
