Solution
- Go to .
- Change the beginning date to align with NY e-filing requirements:
- Liability period beginningon or after 01/01/2025(e.g., 1/1/2025 - 6/30/2025): Use 2025 tax software
- Liability period beginningbefore 01/01/2025(e.g., 7/1/2024 - 6/30/2025): Use 2024 tax software
- Make date changes on the federal return first. New York copies dates from the federal side.
- After New York accepts the return, you can revert the federal fiscal year if needed.noteIf you can't change the dates, the diagnostic won't clear and you'll need to paper file the return.
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
