TN170-058 e-file error

This reject occurs when the Tennessee return is not a Schedule G filer but Schedule G data is included in the e-file submission.

Solution

The return isn't a Schedule G filer. Remove Schedule G from the XML and clear Schedule G on the tax forms.
  1. Go to

  2. Clear the checkbox
    Only those taxpayers that have made an election per Tenn. Code Ann. 67-4-2123 to use the minimum tax base in 67-4-2108 as it applied to tax periods ending before [DATE], should complete Sch. G
    .
  3. Go to
    Organizer
    Cities and Intangibles
    Tennessee Franchise
    E-file
    Forms Included in E-file
    .
  4. Clear the
    FAE 170, Schedule G
     checkbox.
  5. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    Tennessee
    FAE 170 - Schedule G
     and ensure all fields are blank.
  6. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.

Contact the Tennessee Department of Revenue to verify they grant e-filing Schedule G before you file it.
