Error: Form 05-165 not attached to combined report

This error occurs when Form 05-164 indicates a combined report filing, but the required Form 05-165 isn't attached because the reporting entity information is missing.

Error message

Form 05-165: You have indicated on Form 05-164 that this is a combined report, but Form 05-165 is not attached. (Automatic GOTO is not available.) Navigation: Organizer  State Franchise Tax  Texas Franchise  Affiliates  Affiliates  Affiliate Information.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    State Franchise Tax
    Texas Franchise
    Combined Return Information
    Reporting Entity
     and fill out the reporting entity information.
  2. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
