Error: Field 'Country' is unexpected

This error occurs when e-filing a Utah 1065 return with foreign partners who don't have a state/province entered in their address information.

Solution 1: Enter foreign state/province for partner

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Partner Information
    Partner by Partner Data
    Partner name
    Partner Information
    Partner Information
    Name, Address, Phone Number and SSN / EIN
    .
  2. Complete the
    Foreign state/province
     field.
  3. Do a full compute, then recreate the e-file.

Solution 2: Enter province in entity information

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    General Information
    Basic Return Information
    Entity Information
    .
  2. In the
    Address
     section, enter the province in the
    Foreign
     field.
  3. Do a full compute, then recreate the e-file.
note
If you have multiple foreign partners, check each partner's address. The diagnostic only clears when the foreign state/province is populated for all foreign partners. If a valid state/province can't be entered, you'll need to paper file the return.
