This error occurs when e-filing California Schedule 5A-5C-5D and the system expects the
AveragePercent
field instead of
IncomeAssignedToCA
.

Solution 1: Populate
Member California Apportionment Information

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Allocation and Apportionment
    Data Entry
    Property Data Entry
    OR
    Organizer/Overrides folders
    .
  2. Populate the correct apportionment information for California in any folder or field you need.
  3. Repeat for all necessary members of the consolidation.
  4. Do a full recompute, reconsolidate the TopCon, then recreate the e-file.

Solution 2: Enter Member
Apportionment percentage

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    California
    Allocation and Apportionment
    Allocation and Apportionment
    Overrides section
    .
  2. Populate the field
    Apportionment percentage
    .
  3. Repeat for all necessary members of the consolidation.
  4. Do a full recompute, reconsolidate the TopCon, then recreate the e-file.

Alternative 1: Directly enter the California apportionment percentage

  1. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    California
    Combined Report
    Combined Tax Computations
    [Entity Name]
    .
  2. Enter the California apportionment percentage for the entity on the line
    Average apportionment percentage
    in the Individual Company column.
  3. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.

Alternative 2: Clear Schedule R and enter
NONE

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    California
    General Information
    General Information
    .
  2. Unmark the
    Corporation apportioning income using Schedule R
    checkbox.
  3. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    California
    Combined Report
    Combined Tax Computations
    [Entity Name]
    .
  4. Enter
    NONE
    in the
    Average apportionment percentage
    and
    Relative percent (average apportionment percentage for the entity divided by combined apportionment percentage)
    fields. Enter this in both columns.
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
