Error: Field 'PreviousBusiness' cannot be empty

This happens when you mark that this corporation is a successor to a previous business, but forgot to attach a statement with details.

Solution 1

If the corporation is a successor to a previous business:
  1. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    California
    100-Corporation Franchise Return
    Side 3 tab
    .
  2. If you've selected an option under
    Question 1
    :
    1. Select
      See Detail
      .
    2. Go to the workpaper and select
      Previous Business Information
      .
    3. Go to the California row and enter the name, address, and Employer Identification Number or Social Security Number of the previous business.

Solution 2

If the corporation isn't a successor to a previous business:
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    California
    General Information
    General Information
    Additional information
    .
  2. Clear the initial return options.

If this is an initial return (and not a successor to a previous business), go to
Organizer
States
Common State
General Information
Basic Return Information
Return Information tab
Column F - Initial Return
 and mark the
Initial Return
 checkbox.
