This validation error occurs during Connecticut 1120 e-filing when the StateTaxId field is missing or doesn't contain the required 10-13 digit CT Tax Registration Number.

- Populate theTax IDfor each member.
- Each member must have a unique CT ID number. The exception is the parent and top consolidated entity, which share the same number.noteThe CT Tax Registration Number must be greater than 9 digits in length (10-13 digits).
- At the top consolidated entity, consolidate the return and recreate the e-file.

The CT Tax Registration Number is required to e-file returns and extensions in the state. If you don't have a CT Tax Registration Number, contact the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) to obtain one.
