Error: Illinois only allows electronic filing of the state return when the federal return type is 1120, 1120F or 1120S
Illinois only lets you e-file corporate returns when the federal return type is 1120, 1120F, or 1120S. Returns with other entity types such as 1120-REIT, 1120-H, or 1120-PC need to be paper filed or use a federal copy attached from a different locator.

Solution
If you have an 1120, 1120F or 1120S federal return in a separate locator, you can attach it as the federal copy for Illinois.

- InColumn Bfor theIllinoisrow, selectAttach a federal XML created in a different locator/binder.noteIf you are unable to attach a federal copy from a different locator, you will have to paper file the Illinois return.
- Enter the locator information inColumns G, H, and I.
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
