FIA1120-SA-001 e-file error

This error occurs when Schedule A Line 20 "Totals - Reductions" doesn't equal the sum of specified lines on Form IA 1120. The issue is typically caused by an override on Schedule A Line 6 or Line 8.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Tax Forms

    .
  2. Note the amount on
    line 20
     in the Reductions column
  3. Make sure that sum of the amounts on
    IA-1120 Page 3 Schedule A
    lines 3
    ,
    4
    ,
    6
    ,
    7
    ,
    8
    ,
    13
    ,
    14
    ,
    15
    ,
    16
    , and
    19
     is equal to the amount on
    line 20
    .
  4. Clear any overrides on these lines.
  5. Do a full recompute, recreate the e-file, and resubmit.
note
If Line 6 on Form IA 163 is negative, the amount transfers to the Reductions column on Form IA-1120, Page 3, Line 6. Form IA 163 Line 6 is calculated from Line 5 minus Line 4. Lines 1, 3, and 5 come from Federal Form 8990.
