Solution
- Go to and enter complete asset detail information, including:
- Description
- Date in Service
- Cost
- Method
- Life
- IRC “Internal Revenue Code” §179 Expense Election
- Special Depreciation
- ITC Type
- If there are no 179 expenses, remove all amounts from Form 4562A so the form remains blank for e-filing.
- Perform a full recompute and recreate the e-file.

IA 4562A only works with asset detail and doesn't accept overrides.
