This e-file validation error occurs when the Federal Identification Number (EIN) is missing on a Massachusetts 1120 return.

Solution
- At the TopCon, go to .
- Right-click on the EIN field and selectSubview. Make sure there is an EIN populated for all entities (including the Eliminations locator).
- Go to . For Massachusetts, change Column C toCombine.
- Verify your structure includes 1 Parent, 1 Elim, and 1 or more Subs.
- After correcting the structure, consolidate the TopCon.
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
