Error: Preparer signature date is required

This happens when a preparer information and/or signature date is missing.

Error message

Preparer: Preparer signature date is required. Enter on Organizer\States\Common State\General Information\Paid Preparer Information\Paid Preparer Information tab.

Solution

  1. In Organizer, select
    States
    Common State
    General Information
    Paid Preparer Information
    .
  2. Select the
    Preparer Information
     tab.
  3. In Massachusetts, column H, make sure the preparer information is filled out and the Signature Date is complete.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
