Error messages

Federal return has a federal dependency that is not being met. Could be the federal return has not been submitted/accepted yet.
or
[STATE] has been submitted as a Linked State. Federal Return must have a electronic Status of "ACCEPTED".
Federal return has not been submitted or having a rejected Status.
State was dependent on federal return being accepted. So, State e-file rejected.

Solution

Go to
Organizer
States
State E-File
Enable/Create Returns
Federal Copy Tab
.
Make sure the correct federal copy option is selected in Column B.
If you're using a federal XML from a different locator, make sure the correct locator information has been entered in Columns G, H, and I.
Verify the federal XML being used as the federal copy has been submitted and accepted for e-file.
Do a full recompute, recreate the e-file, then resubmit the return.
