NCCD405-1000 e-file error

You get this error when a federal 1120 or 1120-F return is not provided with North Carolina Form CD-405.

Error message

[CD-405] A Federal 1120 return or a Federal 1120-F return must be provided with a CD-405.

Solution

  1. GoSystem Tax RS doesn’t support e-filing North Carolina consolidated returns.
  2. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    State E-file
    Enable/Create Returns
    Federal Copy
    .
  3. Select
    Attach a federal XML created just for State (State copy)
    , or select
    Attach a federal XML created in a different locator/binder
     and update columns G through I for a nonconsolidated federal return.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
