Free a locator when locked out or unable to open a locator
If a return appears open even though all users have it closed, you can free the locator using the following steps.

Freeing a locator will close all locators open regardless of entity type or tax year, so make sure that all users have closed the return before continuing.
- In the Browser, go toReturnsand search for the locator.
- Mark the return and selectInfo.tipUse theHistorytab to see who might have the locator open.
- SelectFree, and thenOK.
