Locator is in read-only mode

A locator appears in read-only mode when a completed date has been entered for the return.

Error message

Locator is currently read only. You are a member of a group that masks Personal Information in the organizer. You are not allowed to open this locator at this time. Please see your Administrator.

Solution

To restore edit access, remove the completed date.
  1. Go to the
    Returns
    screen.
  2. Locate and select the affected return.
  3. Select
    More
    Update Completed Date
    .
  4. Delete the existing completed date from the field.
  5. Select
    Update
    .
    The locator returns to edit mode, and you can make changes to the return.

You may need your firm's administrator to perform these steps, depending on your permissions. If the
Update Completed Date
option isn't available, contact your administrator for assistance.
