Application updates 25-5F

The following information is a summary of the features and resolved issues on this release.

GST Data Query

The newly designed Data Query UI enables firms to generate insights on the data in client returns via access to a new data lake. Alongside the Data Query UI, OData APIs are also being released allowing firms to retrieve queried data from GST on demand.

E-file Business Rule and Schema Validation at Compute Time (1040)

This release completes the rollout of compute-time e-file diagnostics for 1040 returns, delivering the remaining business rules and schema validations.

Events Fixes and Enhancements

IRS statuses delivered through GoSystem Events now include two additional fields: the
Login ID
of the user who submitted the return and the
IRS Submission ID
assigned at the time of acknowledgment from IRS.

GetFilingMethod API - Expansion to All Tax Types

This update completes the extension of the GetFilingMethod API to support all tax types, including 1040, 1041, 990, 1120, 1065, 5500, 706, and 709.

Letters and filing instructions

  • Streamlined Prepare Navigation
    : The editor button “Use Old Version” has been removed from the Preparer section. The new editor is now the default experience for a more consistent workflow.
  • Improved Editor Formatting Consistency
    : An issue affecting font style and size updates has been resolved, ensuring consistent and predictable formatting across Letters and Forms.
  • Controlled Template Field Usage
    : Copying fields across templates is now restricted to help maintain template integrity and consistent behavior.
  • Clearer Template Selection
    : Letters and Filing Instructions are now listed under separate menu items, resolving earlier loading confusion and improving clarity.

Enhancement: New UI Now Available for Additional Returns Processing Screens

As part of the ongoing GoSystem Tax interface migration, several Returns Processing screens have been updated to the modern user interface. All existing functionality is retained; no workflows or data have changed.

SOAP Web Services End of Life (EOL)

As part of the ongoing modernization effort, this release completes the full retirement of SOAP web services and removes all remaining dependencies on the legacy SOAP-based infrastructure.
