Instruct or moderate a webinar

note
This applies to licensed Connect users only.
Courses that you're assigned to as an instructor will appear in the same area as the courses you're assigned to as a learner. You'll be able to differentiate your role for each course within the tiles. Select the tile to view the course details and session times. To join the webcast room, select to expand the upcoming session you're instructing and select
Join the Webinar
. If you don't see an option to join, you're not within the timeframe to join. Contact your administrator to update the session settings if you need to join the room earlier.

Before your webinar begins

Select the following links to see details on what we recommend you do before participants join:
  1. Turn on your microphone and webcam.
  2. Make sure your session is configured properly.
  3. Test your playlist.

When the webinar begins

When the session begins and your participants are in the webcast room, the following options are available to you as an instructor/moderator.
  • Manage your participants list
  • Record your session
  • Share your screen
  • Use breakout rooms to split participants into groups

After your webinar ends

Instructors can end the session by leaving the session or ending it.
Leaving the session
You can leave the session as you would if you were a participant. Select the 3 dots and select
Leave Session
. Once the host (instructor) leaves the room, an invisible 15-minute timer begins. If the host doesn't return within those 15 minutes, the session will end for all participants.
Ending the session
Instructors can force end the session immediately by selecting the
End Session
icon that appears next to the 3 dot icon in the toolbar. Once you select yes to verify, the session will remove all participants. As an instructor, you can easily restart the session by selecting
Start Session
in the Session-Ended banner (as long as it is still within the time frame of the session).
Ending and downloading the recording
If you recorded your session, you can download it to archive or save it for another use.
