Adding Training Materials to Courses

You can add training materials like videos, files, and screen captures to courses. For eLearning courses, the training materials will be the primary method of course delivery.

Adding Training Materials

  1. Sign in as an Administrator and select the gear to access the Admin menu.
  2. Select
    Course Management

  3. Select the course.
  4. Select
    Training Material
    .
  5. Select
    Add Training Material

Training Material categories

  • Organize
    • New Folder: Create a folder or within TR Learning to organize the training materials added to this course.
  • Upload
    • SCORM: Upload a SCORM learning file to your course. With this training material type, you choose how the score is calculated and what view mode you want the course to play in (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).
    • AICC: Upload an AICC or HAPC learning file to your course. You can choose what view mode you would like the course to play in (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).
    • xApi (Tin Can): Enable your learners to play a xApi file. TR Learning gives you the option of uploading a xApi file locally or you can direct the learner to the file via URL.
    • Video: Upload video files, record your screen, or embed a video link from YouTube, Vimeo, or Wistia so learners can play videos in courses.
    • File: Upload files to let learners to download the material locally.
    • Assignment: Let your learner upload assignments. You can let multiple files be uploaded and gate content until assignments are uploaded.
  • Import
    • Elucidat: Enable your learn to play Elucidat course material. You can select an existing Elucidat course to import or link out to the Elucidat website to create a new course to import.
    • LTI: Import LTI content so learners can play it directly in courses.
  • Create
    • Slides converter: Convert your presentations or PDF documents into online training material for learners to view in courses.
    • HTML Page: Create an HTML page learning object so learners can view an external webpage directly inside a course.
    • Survey: Create a survey so learners can provide feedback about the content or course.
    • Test: Create a test in your course to assess how much learners have learned from your content.

Modifying Training Material settings

Once you add training materials, you may want to modify additional settings for each material. To do this, select the menu  next to the training material. Then select

Training Material prerequisites

You can add prerequisite requirements to webcast course training materials. To do this, select the menu next to the training material. Then select
Prerequisites

Any folders listed in your training materials menu won’t have the option to modify settings or add prerequisites. You will have the option to edit the file name instead.
