Create and manage user groups

As an administrator, you can create a group to help with class assignments and user management.

Create a new group

Follow the steps to create a new user group.
  1. Select the gear icon to go to the
    Admin Menu
    .
  2. Select the
    Groups
    hyperlink.
  3. Select the
    Create
    icon.
  4. In the
    Create Group
    field, enter a
    Name
    and
    Description
    for your group, then select
    Next
    .
You created a new group. You can add users to the group from the edit group selection field, or save and close to add users later.

Add users to a group

You can add users to your group with the
Assign Users
button in the
Create Group
field or from the initial Groups page. Both paths will bring you to the
Assign Users
page. Follow the steps to assign users to groups.
  1. Select the
    Assign Users
    button.
  2. In the
    Assign Users
    screen, you can select individual users, entire groups, or entire branches to the current group. This screen also has a search field to help with locating users.
  3. Select the individual users, groups, or branch you want to add to your group using the checkbox next to each item. You can select multiple items at once.
  4. Select
    Confirm
    .

Delete users from a group

Follow these steps to remove users.
  1. Go to the
    Groups
    page.
  2. Select the
    User Management
    icon next to the group you want to modify.
  3. Once on the
    Assign Users
    Screen, select the checkbox next to the users you wish to remove. You can also select an entire page of users or all users in the group at once using the hyperlinks.
  4. After all desired selections have been made, select the
    Choose an action
    dropdown menu and select
    Delete
    .

Manage group profile information

If the name or description of a group needs to be modified, use the following steps.
  1. Go to the
    Groups
    page.
  2. Select the
    edit
    icon edit icon next to the group you want to modify.
  3. In the edit screen, make the changes to group name and/or
    Description
    and select
    Next
    .
  4. The following screen will give you the options of continuing to edit users or to save and go back.
